Thai Medical Informatics Association (TMI) and Thai Information Security Association (TISA) saw the crucial importance and the consequences from the spread of computer virus in the ICT system of medical practitioners. Such issue has been earlier raised in a national news report under the topic of "When hacking risk health". Thus, PTT ICT’s Security Team, Mr. Chaiyakorn Apiwathanokul (Chief Security Officer), Mr. Thanasin Jitkaew (Security Officer), and Mr. Surachai Chatchalermpun (Security Officer) have been invited to inspect the level of risks for many hospital ICT equipments. The equipments such as X-ray scanner and blood result analysis have been inspected.

PTT ICT’s Security Team gladly took on this challenge as a great opportunity to use their skills as a CSR activity. Being a CSR activity, the whole exercise was free of cost to the organizations involved as the team was willing to offer service free to the society.

The PTT ICT’s Security Team received an honor from the Healthcare Accreditation Institute (HAI) Public Organization and was invited to join a meeting which was hosted on Thursday the 7th of October 2010, 09:00-12:00 o’clock in the main meeting room on level 1 of Building 6th of Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health. In the meeting, result from the previous inspection was shared with various specialists. The collected data were then analyzed and evaluated with a view to work towards the development of most effective ICT security approach. Such approach would be developed further into a national level and hopefully will be carried into hospitals throughout the whole country.
