On 21-22 October 2010, PTT ICT Solutions Company Limited was honored to be the host of 2010’s 0GAP (Oil, Gas & Petrochemical Asia Pacific User Group) or what is often known as the “Zero GAP Seminar”.
At the Sofitel Centara Grand Bangkok Hotel, Mr. Tevin Vongvanich, Chief Financial Officer and Senior Executive Vice President of PTT Public Co. Ltd., initiated the Opening Ceremony and Mr. Montri Sanghirun, the president of PTT ICT Solutions Co. Ltd., welcome all guest to the event. In addition, Mr. Chaicharearn Atibaedya, the ex-president of PTT ICT Solutions Co. Ltd. and current Executive Vice President of PTT Research & Technology Institute, was on hand to welcome guests via Skype’s video conference from San Francisco.
The seminar first started in 1998 and hosted in Malaysia with main purpose creating place and opportunity for SAP Asian-Pacific users from the Oil, Gas, Petrochemical industry to share needs knowledge, experience, and troubleshooting methods.
This year’s event attracted many interests, as there were over 40 attendees from 7 different countries and many involvements from companies within the PTT GROUP. In the past 0GAP seminars had afforded PTT ICT the opportunity of developing her employee’s English public speaking skills; this year was no different as Mr. Nopporn Wichailak, PTT ICT’s Senior Business Consultant in Oil, Gas and Refinery, presented a case study of “SAP: Advance Planning Optimization (SAP APO)” which was a paper based on PTT ICT experiences in providing such service to PTT Co. Ltd., the services had been provided in 2 phases. First, was the Demand Planning Module which went Live on the 1st of November and Second, the selection of appropriate software which is in plan to also start within this year. The seminar attendees have shown great interests.
After all users’ requirements, knowledge, experiences, troubleshooting methods sharing information had been collected, developers uses these information to better their service and product. Developers also took this great opportunity to tell these Asia-Pacific users of new knowledge and technology developments.
The seminar’s success was in no small measure due to the active participation and collaboration between various PTT ICT’s divisions. Many of the attendees have expressed their satisfaction and appreciation of the hospitality offered by Thailand and Thai people. The attendees of 2010’s 0GAP seminar have not only expanded their knowledge, shared their experience, but they also created and tighten their bond with other users.
