The grand event, “PTT Group ICT Day 2011” has finally come to pass. On Tuesday the 25th of January 2011 in the open area connecting EnCo building B and C, PTT ICT Company Limited cooperated with several other companies within the PTT Group, which were PTT, PTTEP, PTTCH, PTTAR, TOP, and IRPC, to organize a big event called “PTT Group ICT Day”.

At the event, many leading IT companies were present hosting booths to exhibit and sell their products. Mr. Montri Sanghirun, President of PTT ICT Solutions Co. Ltd., go the event going by explaining the goal and objective of the event. Then shortly after, Mr. Prasert Bunsumpun, President and Chief Executive Officer of PTT Public Company Limited, in his opening speech highlighted the core vision of PTT Group to become internationally accepted as Thailand's largest oil conglomerate and the role that ICT would play to support such vision. The business of PTT Group will be moved forward with unfailing support from its ICT support and by year 2020 PTT Group aims to enter the top 100 ranking of the global Fortune 500. After the opening ceremony, an ISO 20000 award was given to PTT ICT for her POS NGV Services then executives from PTT ICT and the PTT Group together explored the booths and exhibitions of the 7 PTT companies that organized the event.

The executives and guests later returned to the stage area for a lecture by Dr. Pailin Chuchottaworn, President of IRPC Public Company Limited. Dr. Pailin shared with the crowd his knowledge and point of views on the topic of “Technology role in driving organization to the Digital Era”. His lecture was well received as evident in the level of attendance. The academic session progressed into more entertaining activities as Dr. Pailin’s lecture was followed by an interesting stage talk from 2 well known guest speakers, Mr. Tunn Pasakontee (aka. Tunn Oishii), founder of the Oishi Group Company Limited, and Prof. Thunyawat Chaitrakulchai, famous speaker and TV show moderator. The discussion of “Tomorrow World: Driving an Organization with Technology to the New Era with Style” became more interesting with the speakers using different methods to highlight their point of views. The event progressed gradually into a less serious one as the crowd was treated to a period of merriment through a mini-concert. The concert opened with a performance by “Walnut and the Apple Girl Band” – a group that gained its popularity online. The band became famous for performing music using only iPhone, iPad, vocal singing and zero musical instruments. The audience burst into a rapturous cheer as the invited popular singer, “Stamp”, stepped on the stage and he in turn thrilled them by playing some of his well known hit songs.

PTT Group IT Day 2011 ended with much success which would not have been possible without the support, hard work and cooperation of all the planning team, supportive executives and willing assistance from many fellow PTT Group employees. The event’s success has clearly shown the power of PTT Group Synergy.
